Each and every year, in communities throughout the country, MLK weekend is an opportunity for various organizations and houses of worship to come together to engage in Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s enduring call for a just and equitable society in which the basic rights and dignity of all people are strengthened and celebrated.

The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, the Federation's Center for Jewish - Multi-Cultural Affairs, Temple Sinai, Touro Synagogue, Masjidur Rahim mosque, and ADL South Central Region are partnering for "A Celebration of Peace" from Friday, January 17 - Monday, January 20.

The entire Jewish community is encouraged to participate as we walk together with the Muslim community in the City's official MLK march! As in past years, the Federation is coordinating transportation for participants at no cost from the Home Depot at S. Claiborne Ave. and Earhart Blvd. to the beginning of the march route (the New Orleans Jazz Market), leaving Home Depot at 8:30 a.m.; and then from the end of the march route (A.L. Davis Park) back to the Home Depot around 12:00 p.m.

Please RSVP here if you plan to participate in the march.

Sponsor: The Federation's Center for Jewish - Multi-Cultural Affairs is generously supported by the Goldring Family Foundation.
