The Jewish Burial Society or Chevra Kadisha is a group of individuals in the Jewish community who volunteer their time to perform the halakhic preparations and rituals after a Jewish person has passed away. The Chevra Kadisha can also assist family members with preparations and arrangements for sitters for the deceased, Shiva arrangements and minyans. The services provided by the Chevra Kadisha are available to everyone.
