Update: Federations raise $638m, allocate $175m for Israel Emergency

Jewish Federations of North America's drive to provide emergency relief to Israel following Hamas's brutal October 7 attack has reached $638 million, $175 million of which has already been allocated to the most pressing needs on the ground through nearly 300 partner organizations and NGOs.

Over 40 Federation communities have long-standing relationships with local communities throughout Israel that have been affected by the conflict, which has helped them guide funds swiftly and effectively on the ground in response to local needs.

In addition to significant allocations made by individual Federations, which account for nearly two-thirds of the total, $17 million have gone to the Victims of Terror Fund, $16.3 million to support frontline communities, and $10.6 million toward emergency medical services and health care.

Many of the latest funds were allocated toward populations with special needs, such as at-risk youth, people with disabilities, as well as a significant focus on treating both injuries that can be seen and those that are hidden. Read more about the impact these funds are having here.

Organizations that have received funds include the Jewish Agency for Israel, JDC, World ORT, Israel Trauma Coalition, United Hatzalah, Magen David Adom, ZAKA, Chabad, and over a dozen hospitals and medical organizations.

The latest allocation comes just days ahead of a major March for Israel in Washington, DC, where Americans from across the country will rally in support of Israel, the hostages, and against rising antisemitism.

The rally is part of the largest community mobilization effort to support Israel in Federation history, which also encompasses our #BlueRibbonsForIsrael Campaign in support of the 239 innocents still being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, including 39 children. Federations have also launched a series of solidarity missions to Israel that will continue as a clear show of support over the coming weeks and months.
